Rafting along the CHUSOVAYA

“All the time we were going past the wonderful shady forests on both banks of the river and fascinating mountains of pure alabaster and gypsum. We spent over three weeks on the river Chusovaya, and each time we had to do hard work, for the river here is quicker and more winding. We felt as if we were in the middle of a great ocean…”

Isbrant Ides and Adam Brant

Rafting along the CHUSOVAYA

“Staying among these people makes one give up the very idea of something impossible or hard to effect. Streams with little depth miraculously turned into navigable rivers. As peasants dragged their boats across the shallows they sang loudly making their work an enjoyment. Rain or no rain, cold or heat, nobody ever grumbled, ‘it can be managed’ – was the only answer these remarkable people gave …”
